As Sophie slowly approaches her 3rd birthday we are trying to prepare her for the removal of the pacifier. This was not difficult with Landry. At seven months, he got his first tooth and wanted nothing to do with a pacifier after that. As a matter of fact, if we tried to give him one he would get angry and throw it at us. Sophie, on the other hand, is very attached to her "plug plugs". It is the only thing that calms her down. So I am a little afraid of how we will soothe her when she doesn't have the plugs.
This evening after taking a bath she brought me two pacifiers and said she was too bigger for those now. I asked her if she would like to put them in a box and give them to the babies. She said yes, then she picked out one and said she would keep it. She didn't ask for her plug plug when it was time to go to bed so we thought this was a good sign. A little while later she came into the living room and said she wanted her plug plug. She said she was too tiny to give them up.
God Bless Her!
